Editorial and Corrections Policy
How the Union magazine classifies, reviews and corrects its publications.
Material types
An analytical article explains a professional question and the basis for its conclusion. A practical guide provides usable steps or a worksheet. A case study reports data, methods, findings and limitations. Professional opinion is attributed to its author. Synthetic data and hypothetical examples are labelled where they appear.
Review before approval
New reference material is referred to a subject specialist before it is approved as reviewed. The reviewer checks the method, calculations, limits of inference and equivalence across languages. Authorship and review are recorded separately. Review status is tied to the published version.
Conflicts of interest and data use
Authors and reviewers disclose professional or financial relationships that could affect their judgement. Conflicts are recorded and review decisions referred to an independent specialist. Study data are stripped of personal identifiers before publication and permission for use is kept in the editorial record.
Corrections and versions
Readers can use the correction link on each reference article. The editorial team assesses the report and records substantive changes in the article history, with the date, version and what changed. Corrections that affect a result or recommendation state that effect.
